This totally unique house is set in 14 acres and is situated 5kms from Wanaka town centre. This 'VW Beetle' shaped straw bale house with a grass roof has been featured in national newspapers, magazines and on TV in 'My house my castle", for its style and design features. The downstairs courtyard
leads to the ensuite double bedroom. Massive rock pieces and huge amounts
of imagination have gone in to the bathroom! The large dining room/kitchen
area has a huge log burner/oven and an open fire. It's comfortably furnished
with a dining room table and chairs and a leather sofa. The kitchen is stylishly equipped with gas hob and oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge
and chest freezer.There is a toilet and laundry downstairs
too. The stairway leads up to the mezzanine area where there are bunks. On the same level there are 2 double bedrooms and a large lounge/TV area. Bathroom with bath, shower and loo. there's also a fireman's pole for a hasty entrance to downstairs! Sky TV, great sound system, great views and outdoor area, BBQ.- an amazing house...
